Columbia – Cruce de los Andes
2006 Edition - Test your Limits!
Quest Patagonia Travel & Adventures, is pleased to invite all runners to be part of the 5th edition of an amazing ADVENTURE RACE in Patagonia: COLUMBIA CRUCE DE LOS ANDES the unique race that crosses the Andes by foot joining Argentina and Chile.
The COLUMBIA CRUCE DE LOS ANDES is the first adventure race to gather 500 runners from all over the world in a three day event, that will have stages of aprox. 30 km per day.
Biggest Base Camps ever seen in the middle of the mountains in which runners will have the chance not only to rest in amazing sorroundings, but also to enjoy meeting runners from other countries.
In two member teams (Co-ed, women and men categories) participants will share a same goal, although their expectations will vary according to their physical aptitudes.
This amazing race will take place next 10th, 11th and 12th February 2006 in Patagonia, starting near Bariloche and Villa La Angostura in Argentina and ending in Chile. Quest will make all the arrangements so you do not have to worry about anything but running and enjoying this experience.
Runners will be faced with mountain paths, erosioned terrains, mountain valleys, woods, glacier rivers and high mountain lakes. Each team will have to carry certain mandatory elements. During the nights there will be Base Camps established by the organization, for the competitors to rest and enjoy the evening together.
TEAMS
Categories: Coed– Men – Women – +90 years old (only men must sum 90 or more)
Team name: it should have no more than three words.
Members: two participants with 18 years old or more.
Level of difficulty: participants must have a good previous physical training and have certain experience in adventure racing. Stages each day are around 25 to 30km on paths through mountains, therefore participants must be well prepared.
BASE CAMPS
The Organization will set different Base Camps for the evenings. Each team must have its own elements in order to spend the night safely (tent, sleeping bag). Base Camps will be set near a river or lake, and will have bathrooms (mobile).
A Medical Tent will be set on each Base Camp, for participants to consult doctors during afternoon and night.
Quest´s staff (fluent english speaking) will be available for runners, and support them in everything you might need.
Come down to Patagonia, and enjoy it in a different way: RUNNING! You will have access to places and enjoy landscapes that are only available for this event!
